Jeff Koons launches limited-edition Champagne Cases and Sculpture with Dom Pérignon for younger consumers. Mr. Koons’ Balloon Venus, inspired by a paleolithic fertility figurine, is part of his larger Antiquity series that he began in 2008.
“Dom Perignon invited me about two years ago to work on the project,” Mr. Koons said. “At the time I was working on the Balloon Venus, and I thought it represented life energy and celebrating the biological. And it’s like a Titian painting of a bacchanal, it’s a celebration of the senses.”
With only 650 created, the Balloon Venus for Dom Pérignon bottle case can be purchased for €15,000 and can be reserved through the brand’s web site. The artist also designed more accessible limited-edition gift boxes for the Rose Vintage 2003 and the Blanc Vintage 2004.
