We know, we know, Lisbon Fashion Week was last week but we wanted to breathe in the aesthetics that pleased us most rather than just rewriting a press release, so this will focus on our three favourite makeup looks, what basically stood and made us at the beauty corner go “Aaaaah!”
First and foremost was the makeup look for the Dino Alves Spring/Summer 2014 runway show, the makeup reflected the geometric and layered feel the collection with glistening skin the contrasted in its most prominent areas of the face, the forehead, chin, bridge of the nose and the cheekbones, it was an exaggerated use of illuminating product that wasn’t at all wearable but it was just to make a statement and it did, the blush was a reddish coral shade very similar in shade to Chanel’s cream blush in “Pressage”, eyes and lips were kept rather muted.
Lidija Kolovrat presented not only a bold array of jewel tones and intricate patterns on fabric, the makeup presented as a layered mask that was slightly reminiscent of a Venetian Carnevale mask with rich gold, white and black almost forcing you to look the models in the eyes with the remainder of her features rather muted.
Last but not least, the extravagant jewellery collection of Valentim Quaresma featured sexy sexy sexy (yes that’s sexy three times and not a typo) black and silver smoky eyes that were fiercely winged and combined with his exuberant jewellery collection, while not particularly innovative it’s always a favourite.
All of Moda Lisboa’s makeup was provided by Shiseido makeup, one of their sponsors.
