Last night might’ve been the most glamorous event of the entire Cannes Film Festival, a pretty big feat when you consider that, you know, the entire thing is basically a big glamfest. Celebrities and models all turned up for the annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala in an assortment of gowns so divine, they nearly put Blake Lively’s Gucci and Julianne Moore’s Chanel from earlier in the week to shame (or at least gave them a serious run for their money).
So who made me swoon the most?
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in this bold yellow Emilio Pucci! Being as I’m a a non-blond, can someone confirm? Aren’t you guys always saying you can’t wear yellow? Um, hello!
Jessica Chastain in supremely elegant black Givenchy Couture.
Jourdan Dunn in a canary-yellow Balmain style that looked made for her body. And that midcalf hemline? My. Favorite.
Dita Von Teese in a floral-print Blumarine pick that contrasted loose (the sheer sleeves) with tight (the mermaid silhouette).
Karlie Kloss in a short-sleeve navy Chanel Couture pick with scalloped beading (the kind of dress you and your mom would both love).
Liu Wen’s simple pale blue Vionnet gown looked effortless, a factor I adore, and the color is divine on her.
Carine Roitfeld proved that the allover-sequin dress can work other places than the Vegas bachelorette party. Hers nailed it because of the draped cowlneck and high-slit that let some sexy lace-up heels poke out.
Lara Stone was the most daring (and way different than the simple style I loved her in earlier this week). The vintage Gianni Versace two-piece looks like the ultimate party dress, and I bet it nearly guarantees a good time.
