85th edition of the Concorso d’ Eleganza Villa d’ Este, amoung one of the richest and most fascinating of all time.
Of course “la crem de la crem” of the italian and foreign nobility, great jet set comme d’habitude and magnates oilmen all in a fabulous frame setting of the Villa d’Este with beautiful gowns and haute couture dresses, dream cars and fine wines all in a perfect setup organization have made this event a “must” of elegance.
The Queen of elegance Christine Egger was there of course with all her charm entertaining Princess and Magnates without leaving out some good jokes with the fews common human being like us present while we all were fashinated by this fairytale.
Thanks to the climate and location, as always beautiful and fascinating , from May 23 to 25 in Cernobbio on Como’s Lake, historic motorsport aficionados have been able to witness an unforgettable event
whose protagonists were vintage cars and modern concept car of today among the the most beautiful in the world.
The winners of the 2014 edition of ” Gold Cup ” , which is the first prize awarded by public referendum at Villa D’Este , was in fact an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Spider precisely the Zagato / April 1931.
The car brought in Cernobbio by Corrado Lopresto , Italian collector who in his fleet includes individual pieces of rare beauty, this car is a masterpiece of style and aerodynamics almost unmatched, reason why it also win the Italian BMW Group Trophy for the coolest cars in history.
The 2014 edition of the Concorso d’ Eleganza Villa d’ Este could not then take place in a better way for Maserati, especially during the celebrations of the Centenary of its foundation. What strikes the visitors of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’ Este 2014 was the Maserati Alfieri, the undisputed queen of contemporary prototypes that dominated in Ranked Design Award for Concept Cars & Prototypes .
The home of the trident “Maserati” was also represented by the Maserati 450 S. exceptional racing car from 1956, owned by the Swiss gentleman Albert Spiess that was awarded the Best of Show of the jury and the victory in the ” Racing ” section .
Finally, two other awards for Maserati: The Maserati V4 Sport of 1929, owned by Lawrence Auriana, is the winner of the special prize ” Maserati – the first hundred years,”
while the Maserati A6GCS Pininfarina Berlinetta 1953 owned by Matteo Panini won the Auto & Design Trophy for the style.
