The luxury Italian house Gucci decided to go into the cosmetics world. It’s an old dream of the stylist Frida Giannini that finally materializes into a full line of makeup – eyes, lips, nails and skin – under the auspices of P&G Prestige, who signed a long term licence agreement with Gucci.
In 2015 Giannini will celebrate ten years at the creative helm of Gucci and she is not going to give up right now. Frida Giannini describes Gucci’s upcoming make-up range as an “accessory”.
The fashion house has chosen Charlotte Casiraghi, the daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco and a long-standing Gucci muse, to front the campaigns. The Gucci cosmetics line is a high-quality one. Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini said of 27 year-old Casiraghi, “Charlotte was a natural choice as she embodies the modern iconic Gucci woman”, and described her as a “striking beauty … sophisticated, successful, and iconic”.
The campaign starring Casiraghi will be unveiled during the launch of the Gucci Cosmetics collection this September in selected countries. The line includes Gucci Eye, Gucci Face, Gucci Lip, Gucci Nail, along with luxurious brushes and preparation products for skin.
