5 Quintessential Zac Posen Work Outfits (and, Yes, Dresses) We’d Like to See Him Riff On at Brooks Brothers

The news on Friday that Brooks Brothers had hired Zac Posen to helm its women’s and accessory divisions was big news: The heritage brand is already known around the world, but Posen’s fashion star is sure to add a new level of chicness. Because I can barely contain my excitement, I rounded up some of the designer’s past runway looks (work outfits and, yes, glam dresses!) that I sincerely hope influence what’s to come.

Floaty, feminine dresses that look ready to dance the night away? We can all use a little bit more of that in our lives. I’m hoping (and predicting) the dresses will be ah-mazing.

I love how clearly well-made everything looks when it comes down his runways. This sharply tailored blazer could easily transition into the Brooks Brothers world (and would work equally well in the boardroom or thrown on with a pair of distressed jeans for a dinner date).

His retro sensibilities mean he’s mastered the art of the chic suit-set. The look of this matching number is so timeless, you could buy it now, wear it to work, and pass it on decades later to a thankful daughter (or granddaughter!).

The same forever-elegant thing goes for his evening wear. While a Zac Posen gown is definitely pricey, his designs for Brooks Brothers should be at a more accessible price point—very good news for us!

And, OK, a bit of a stretch, but I’m so deeply in love with his dramatic, voluminous ball gowns that if any part of a look like this gets reimagined, I’ll be lining up to buy it.
