ABOUT MAAIKE FRANSEN
Some call her sheep, others call her multi-fruit.
you could call her crazy or maybe slightly genius,
but Maaike Fransen, as her parents called her, has a mind of her own!
She works on the edges of various fields such as: art, fashion, film, forecast, styling, and product/prop/set-design. With her rich imagination and free ways of interpretation she tries to bring more color, humor and playfulness to the world.
The inspiration can come from daily/ordinary objects or materials, which she manipulates or transforms into new inventions/creations. The result can be functional but absurd/surreal at the same time. Memories and personal stories are woven into her work. Her poetic and original approach is combined with patient skillful hands. All that makes her work authentic and quite unique.
Maaike Fransen graduated cum laude in 2010 from Design Academy Eindhoven, department Man & Identity
In the past she collaborated with Henrik Vibskov and Lucy McRae.
