Pirelli Calendar Got Curvier As the first sneak peeks from the 2015 edition of the legendary Pirelli calendar hit the internet. the fashion world might have gasped a bit. The forthcoming publication will feature it’s first ever plus-size model. In case you don’t really keep an eye on ‘The Cal’ (the calendar has it’s own nickname), the “yearbook” of fashion has never really seen curves before. An exclusive, always long-awaited calendar is released by the Italian tyre company Pirelli and is a big deal in the fashion world. Every year it features the lineup of superstar models, channelling the beauty of a female body – however, no plus-size model has ever been a part of it before.
A 29-year-old Candice Huffine is very proud to be invited. ‘My presence on this set – the most glamorous in the world – is a sign that things are really changing,’ she concluded. Other models to appear in the calendar are Adriana Lima, Natalia Vodianova, Raquel Zimmermann, Isabeli Fontana, Sasha Luss, Anna Ewers, Carolyn Murphy, Cameron Russell, Joan Smalls, Karen Elson, and the model-daughter of the Real Housewive Gigi Hadid. This calendar is a legend – and it was shot by a legend, too. One of the Vogue’s favorite photographers, Steven Meisel got 12 superstar beauties strike their best poses while dressed in latex, leather, and seductive bustiers. Yes, this year’s theme reads FETISH. Move over, 50 Shades Of Grey.
“I’m wearing all latex in one shot, which is very cool,” said Gigi Hadid, one of the selected models, to WWD. “I’ve never worn latex before, but everyone’s, like, telling me that it would suck because you get all sweaty and you can’t breathe. But I really like it and now I want latex leggings.” The fetish-themed 2015 Pirelli calendar will be released in November. Meanwhile, we have a lot of sneak peeks to enjoy.
