River Island Gets A Fashion Blogger to Design A Capsule Shoes Collection

The owner of the trending fashion blog 5 Inch and Up and fashionistas’ favorite girl Sandra Hagelstam got approached by River Island to design a capsule footwear collection for their autumn/winter 2014 line. Following the footsteps of her fellow blogging colleague Olivia Palermo, who had recently unveiled her collaboration with Aquazzura, Sandra took a chance to prove herself not only as a style guru, but also leave a footprint in the industry with the heels of her very own designed stilettos. Her collection includes black pointed stilettos, ankle boots and court shoes, and a special fetish-isque pair of over-the-knee cuissardes. The total of six styles vary in materials, too – from suede to moc-croc and ponyskin.

“I am so excited and honored to be working with River Island on this fantastic collaboration,” the blogger said. “I can’t wait to see it launch instore and online. I’ve aimed to design a powerful and seductive collection for strong women who understand the importance of a simplified statement shoe and I’m eager to see how women will be styling the range. It’s been a fantastic experience working with the great team of buyers and designers at River Island in creating this collection and I hope it will be as fun to wear as it has been to design the shoes.”

The collection will become available in select River Island stores and online in November, with prices ranging from £85-185.
