The Best Looks From Michael Kors’ Young Hollywood Party Were, Simply, So Pretty

Some parties tend to feel like firmly after-the-sun-goes-down affairs, with slinky, sexy dresses and no shortage of skin. Others, like the the party Michael Kors threw last night to celebrate the new book Young Hollywood, are mostly filled up with pretty, feminine dresses that read as more princess than siren. Compared with Carine Roitfeld’s extremely sexy party earlier in the week, with low-cut necklines and buckets of black, this one was heavy on the light and girly and looked fantastic.

There was Hailee Steinfeld in an embroidered white dress with long sleeves and round buttons, but it was her accessories that really helped usher things into autumn. Instead of brights or pale neutrals, she picked warm tobacco leather for her shoes and belt.

The simple shape of Harley Viera-Newton’s dress was jazzed up thanks to a sprinkling of embellishments all over. The base color was a touch warmer than crisp, optic white, turning it into a shade designers seem to be working with a lot recently.

I’ve been really feeling floaty and high-necked recently and, as such, fell hard for Isabel Lucas’ prairie-ready dress. It’s the most unique of the bunch, and it feels so romantic!

Gugu Mbatha-Raw proved classic white lace is always pretty in this simple style with a silky ribbon tied at the waist.

Another easy white lace dress came from Nina Dobrev. Like Gugu, hers had long sleeves that might’ve felt stifling at a steamy summertime event but provided just the extra bit of coverage warranted by a crisp fall night.

Drop-waist dresses seem to work really well for Rachel Zoe (or maybe I’m just biased since I love them). The midcalf hemline makes it feel autumn-sensible, and I love the bronze heels. They’re like the color of fallen leaves!

(Everyone but Rachel is wearing Michael Kors.)
