Jenner wore looks from Badgley Mischka, Zac Posen, and Herve Leger in the Annie Leibovitz shoot, which took place in Los Angeles. We spoke to some designers to find out what they had to say about outfitting Jenner for a cover that will go down in history.

“I’m very proud to be included in the roster of chosen designers for such a historic moment captured by the iconic Annie Leibovitz,” Zac Posen told Glamour . “I think the most important message that comes from this is to be who you are and feel beautiful in your skin.”

Upon seeing Jenner wearing a signature Herve Leger bandage top and skirt, chief creative officer Lubov Azria quoted Ralph Ellison in The Invisible Man to echo her sentiments: “’When I discover who I am, I’ll be free. We are honored to be a part of this empowering moment.”
