Fashion Designer Mattijs van Bergen will start his comeback with this interesting exhibition ‘PHOTO TO FASHION’ at the Nederlands Fotomuseum – Rotterdam – on September 26, 2015. Black is the theme in this collection inspired by photography by example from Martien Coppens, Ed van der Elsken, Bernard F. Eilers en Richard Tepe.
For the exhibition Photo to Fashion, the Nederlands Fotomuseum and Dutch fashion designer Mattijs van Bergen have come together for and exceptional collaboration. Inspired by the iconic black-and-white photography from the Museum’s collection, Van Bergen has designed a new fashion collection. Exploring an exciting combination of image, material and technique, he adds a new dimension to the photographs through his designs.
The Dutch photographers Sacha van Dorssen, Wendelien Daan en the duo Petrovsky & Ramone have captured the fashion collection for posterity. The fashion photographs will be exhibited along with the designs. The exhibition is specially laid out by leading designer and lighting expert Theun Mosk in conjunction with Jos Blom.
