There were so many great runway shows lately. They started in New York and ended in Paris. I picked a few long gowns. So elegant for a warm summer night.
It gonna be a wonderful summer 2016, that’s for sure! Some highlights.
Louis Vuitton
Nicolas Ghesquiere, who presented his collection at the Frank Gehry-designed Fondation on the final day of Paris Fashion Week. A parade of intergalactic
punky girls whose hands were banded in black and white leather. Ankle-skimming gowns of dyed washed silks. Romantic and tough in equal measures.
Balmain
Superwomanly looks by Olivier Rousteing. He showed his collection with beautiful chiffon ruffled trousers. Nude tones. Toffee-coloured sets.
Macramé gowns. Brown catsuits. Peekaboo cut-outs and spandex strapping and lattice-like sheaths studded in jewels. We can not wait for his
upcoming collaboration with H&M.
John Galliano
His briljant desings were focused on lace, semi transparant tops. Decorative fabrics, polka dots. Leather jackets with studs. Some models wear metallic Buckingham Palace guard caps.
Emporio Armani
The power of pink continues on to Milan: Carolina Herrera celebrated it in all of its many shades in New York, and London’s designers were quite enamoured with it too. Who else is? Mr Armani.
Coral and tangerine, pink and dusty pink. Very feminin.
Missoni
“My father always joked; India, Africa – Missoni did it first!” said Angela Missoni backstage, referring to her late father Tai, and to the zig-zag patterns that are the company’s home territory.
Basing her show on an African palette and patterns, from the orange blocks of flooring to the wavy blue/yellow/red stripes on lean knit dresses. The jewellery seemed especially tribal.
