After New York, London, Milan, Paris and now Dubai, the Emirates have finally been officially added to the international fashion week calendar. The Arab Fashion Week will run from October 31 to November 2. It was so exciting!The Arab Fashion Week presented both prominent international and Arab designers, including Roderigo Otazu, Atelier Leon Leon, Abed Mahfouz, Laura Mancini, Selphie Bong, Adelina Rusu, Sylvio Kovacic, Tony Ward, Tiiya by Alanoud, Giada Curti, Genny, Mireille dagher and Ju Jordy Fu, all showcasing their spring/summer 2016 collections. It was difficult to make a choice which design to sketch.. they are all stunning, fabulous and breathtaking! Amazing fabrics and designs.
Tony Ward
Tony Ward was chosen as the Guest Designer of the first edition of the Arab Fashion Week. He was invited to present his Couture collection as the Closing Fashion Show, which took place at the Park Hyatt, on November 2nd in Dubai. The Arab Fashion Week, designed to be one of the world’s highest profile designers showcase along with the other four big fashion weeks held in New York, London, Milan & Paris is
becoming the new landmark in the fashion industry, with a brand new innovative
concept.
Giada Curti
Italian Fashion designer Giada Curti, showcased an eloquent Spring Summer 2015 Ready Couture collection focusing on a vibrant summer pastel palette. Each Giada Curti piece was reminiscent of the style and the sensuality of a bygone era. Crisp white shirts tucked in elongated skirts enhanced the waist line, reflecting intricate techniques. Macreme lace, delicate silk and brocade were featured on shades of fuchsia, turquoise, teal and white.
Atelier Leon Leon
Atelier Leon Leon (Dutch designer Leon Klaassen Bos) opened the second day of Arab Fashion Week, showcasing a 360 degree experience of his Spring Summer 2016 Ready Couture designs. Atelier LeonLeon exhibits the runway with precious fabrics that emanated refinement and magnificence. The designs portray a rhythmic flow that articulates and colours that represent a vigorous framework. While the designer presented the show with a distinctive selection, he ends it with an eccentric Techno Couture bridal gown for the Arab Fashion Week
TIIYA by Alanoud Al Attiya
Fashion designer Alanoud Al Attiya presented her latest fashion collection for Spring/Summer 2016 at Arab Fashion Week. In her latest collection “Tiiya” Alanoud used lush fabrics, ranging from heavy gazar, to lighter organza, crepes and taffetas, and her look is instantly recognisible by her sculptural shapes and meticulously ornate beading. Tiiya’s debut collection was hosted at the Arab Fashion Week’s inaugural show held in Dubai, whereby she was chosen by the Arab Fashion Council as the only designer from the Arabian Gulf to show her collection.
