River Island’s RI Studio collection comes undone this autumn, with deconstructed tailoring fused with statement knitwear. The collection is a premium edit of quality outerwear, knitted dresses and tailored twinsets with a focus on hardware, embroidery and corsetry details.

The 15 piece capsule nods to the punk era with it’s easy to wear and laid-back approach to autumnal dressing. Influenced by street style tailoring of the 70’s, River Island has modernised the look with adornments fresh from the catwalk, featuring pretty ornate appliques, juxtaposed against tough pierced metal.

Masculine tailoring, metal hardware and delicate details are juxtaposed throughout this edit, contrasting androgynous oversized silhouettes with sultry cut outs in a palette of tough black, winter grey and crisp white, with accents of floral pink embroidery.

Chloe Jones, River Island Designer comments: ‘The range features classic tailored pieces which are cut about and pieced back together with metal hardware. Masculine checks and leathers are juxtaposed with ornate appliques and embroideries. We really wanted to nod to the rich, punky and completely adorned aesthetic that featured heavily on the AW17 catwalks. We have some amazing statement knitwear too, including a fringed & deconstructed cable knit jumper – a real hero piece.’
